Sunday 3RD MAY - 4TH Sunday OF EASTER

Vocations Sunday

Good Morning & welcome all to our virtual Sunday Gathering

Maria will be leading the service this morning on Facebook Live Stream from 10:30am, (a recording of which has now been added below) followed by a talk on video from Richard. If you would like to follow along with the liturgy please open the service booklet using the link below.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
— Psalm 23.1 (KJV)

Please wait until after you have heard Maria lead us through the beginning of today’s service before you watch the video and use the resources below.

If you are watching with family or housemates then we encourage you to take a few moments to chat about what you hear today. If you are watching alone then maybe you could make contact with 1 or 2 others over WhatsApp or even a Zoom call, with a coffee in hand - much like you would do most Sunday mornings.

EASTER PILGRIM

Days 21 to 25 ‘Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us’

We learn a great deal about ourselves when we are under stress and pressure. We learn that we ourselves are flawed, imperfect and in great need of God’s forgiveness. This is a key part of being human. Jesus has given us, each day, the words to seek that greatest gift, offered through his death on the cross. Jesus also gives us each day the strength to forgive others, especially those we share our lives and our confinement with, to enable us to live well together. All of our debts have been redeemed.

To find out how you can receive the daily ‘Easter Pilgrim - The Lord’s Prayer’ reflections, see the Church of England website.

For our closing prayer this Sunday

Your kingdom come... In hospitals. In warehouses. On our streets. At home.

Christians across the UK are praying the Lord's prayer on their frontlines.

You could join them in praying for our nation with the Pressure, Presence, Purpose Covid-19 Prayer Journeybit.ly/3b8nmgt from LICC - The London Institute of Contemporary Christianity.

Vocations Sunday always falls on the fourth Sunday of Easter. It is a day for churches to encourage everyone to reflect, discover and recognise God's call to them.

Vocation means what you are called by God to be and do. For some, this is a specific calling to ministry. For others, it could mean serving God through faithful discipleship in everyday life.

Everyone has a vocation.

What is God’s plan for you?
