On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you

Good Morning & welcome all to our virtual Sunday Gathering

Vicar Lee will be leading our virtual Morning Prayer service this morning with music, readings & prayers and the talk from Frances all streamed Live on Facebook at 10:30am.

Update: a recording of our Facebook Live service has now been added below

The words for the service will be on the screen for you to follow along this week. A copy of these words (liturgy) are in the booklet linked below.

If you are watching with family or housemates then we encourage you to take a few moments to chat about what you hear today. If you are watching alone then maybe you could make contact with 1 or 2 others over WhatsApp or even a Zoom call, with a coffee in hand - much like you would do most Sunday mornings.

This week’s activities include making paper chain people. Click on the image to the right for fun alternative instructions for making these chains. These could make a great contribution to our #ParishPostcards project.

EASTER PILGRIM

Days 36 to 40 ‘For the Kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever’

The final lines of the Lord’s Prayer (added by the Church) celebrate the end of the story. This present chapter is challenging and difficult, perhaps the darkest part of the book. But it is not the end of the tale. There is more to come on earth and heaven. Jesus has won the victory by his death and resurrection. Even from this present darkness it is possible for many, much of the time, to raise our eyes and hearts to heaven, to look forward in hope, to sing God’s praise like Paul and Silas in prison and to give praise and glory to God, our Father in heaven.

Thy Kingdom Come in Lockdown

This week we see the start of Thy Kingdom Come for 2020. It runs for 11 days from Ascension Day (21st May) to Pentecost (31st May) and this year there is a great Prayer Journal with a reading, reflection, prayer and action for each day, which is free to download and print. There is also a digital Family Prayer Adventure Map. Click the blue links for more information and to get these resources.

For our closing prayer this Sunday

Holy Spirit, we welcome You. Holy Spirit, we know that You are the Counselor of Truth, our help in need, and the One who fills us with the Spirit of God.

Holy Spirit, we pray this very day to come into greater communion with You. You so graciously work to intercede for us to the Father, but also to comfort us with Your peace that goes beyond all understanding.

Holy Spirit, please come.

Amen.
