GOOD MORNING & WELCOME ALL TO OUR SUNDAY GATHERING - IN CHURCH AND ONLINE

This morning’s service comes from Holy Trinity, Hotwells. Maria will be leading the service this morning with, music, readings & prayers and the talk from Phil, all streamed Live on Facebook at 10:30am.

Our bible readings for today are Ezekiel 36.24-28, Acts 1.15-17, 21-end and John 17.6-19

As we are streaming the live service from church you may just wish to enjoy watching and listening to the words (liturgy), you will also be able to follow the church screen at times. If you would prefer to follow along more closely please download the service booklet linked below.

If you are watching from home and missing seeing people from church, is there someone you can make contact with to see if they fancy joining you for a chat on WhatsApp / Zoom / Facetime or the telephone after the Live Stream service? Grab a coffee and have a catch up much like you would in church on a Sunday morning. If you are not sure who you could make contact with please speak to Vicar Lee or one of the churchwardens (Dave, Jeanette, Maria or Alan) and we will see what we can arrange for you.

*** UPDATE: a recording of the service has now been added below ***

Thy kingdom come

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus.

Since its start in May 2016 God has grown Thy Kingdom Come from a dream of possibility into a movement. Christians from 172 countries have taken part in praying ‘Come Holy Spirit’, so that friends and family, neighbours and colleagues might come to faith in Jesus Christ.

After the very first Ascension Day the disciples gathered with Mary, constantly devoting themselves to prayer while they waited for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Like them, our reliance on the gift of the Holy Spirit is total – on our own we can do nothing.

In praying ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ we all commit to playing our part in the renewal of the nations and the transformation of communities.
— Archbishop Justin Welby

Through the centuries Christians have gathered at this time to pray for the coming of the Holy Spirit. ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ picks up this tradition. Whether you have joined in ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ before or not, we are invited to take part – along with churches from over 80 different denominations & traditions in nearly 90% of countries (172) around the world.
